    Good entertainer. But, why did the story abandon the theme of ‘dosa’ and food half-way through? The theme song and visuals that went with it gave the viewer an impression that the story is about food and food lovers. The opening scene in which the school child makes everyone salivate chewing on a tamarind fruit underlines that imperssion. The film advertises that its story started from a ‘dosa’. All these imageries and innundoes make the viewer drool with anticipation of a new story and a new package. But somewhere down the line, the images of a sumptuous meal, the hearty noise of slurping on food all give way to the much beaten and cliche-ed theme of love.
    And love among the people who are past their prime and are beyond the ‘run-around the tree’ kind of love. Why we have to depend on love for the theme of a film? This film should have been a path-breaker of sorts if it had stuck to the basic thread of food and food-lovers with may be a subplot of archeology and the mysterious Ibn Batuta ear ring as a sub-plot.
